A Quiet Place: Day One

Alright, so picture this: Samira is a young poet battling cancer and staying at a clinic just outside the city. She gets to take a trip to New York City with some other patients, and they’re escorted by this nice nurse. They’re supposed to be at this puppet show, but let’s be real—Samira’s only there for the pizza.

Then, out of nowhere, aliens show up, and everything goes wild. Samira makes it through the madness and ends up hiding with a small group of other people. They quickly figure out that the aliens have hypersensitive hearing, so staying alive means being extra quiet.

After dealing with some terrifying moments and bumping into strangers along the way, she ends up teaming up with Eric—a law student from Britain who’s studying in New York—and, of course, her trusty cat Frodo tags along too. Together, they’re trying to navigate this now-apocalyptic city that’s been totally flipped upside down by these invaders.

Now here’s the twist: This movie steps back in time compared to the others in its series—like hitting rewind—to show how everything started. So it’s not only setting the scene as a prequel but also giving us fresh faces in familiar situations from before. The movie’s director John Krasinski was behind the first couple of films too—so you know it ties into what we’ve seen happen before even if it has its own unique flavor!
This movie starts right in the middle of the first invasion, so it’s all about the chaos from the get-go. Michael Sarnoski really cranks up the action, making things intense and nonstop. Unlike the last one, which dug into personal stories and emotions, this one’s focused on big, jaw-dropping scenes. It might not have the same emotional punch, but with all the drama and excitement, it’s still a blast to watch!
